K – 5th Elementary School: Creating Mathematical Thinkers (Virtual Workshop)

K – 5th Elementary School: Creating Mathematical Thinkers (Virtual Workshop) Online

Join us this fall as we investigate material from the book, 9 Critical Habits to Ignite Mathematical Thinking, by Margie Pearse and K.M. Walton.  We’ll investigate the habits, such as monitoring and repairing understanding, questioning for understanding, and collaborating to learn, and how to develop those habits in your classroom . . .tomorrow.

Description: As much as we want our students to be literate, we also want them to be numerate.  We want our students to have the ability to use mathematics in everyday life.  Many students know how to do the math, but do not know how to think through the math.  If they see the math in a slightly different context then they are often stumped.

Habit 3:  Identify similarities and differences and recognize patterns
