Flourishing in Difficult Times

Flourishing in Difficult Times Online

You know those people who seem to be able to keep on keeping on even in difficult times? How do they do it? We know that well-being can be robustly raised and maintained over long stretches of time through a variety of means. Researchers have developed a collection of simple strategies that can be used to calm anxiety, boost our mood, or even take ourselves from good to great. Come join us to set yourself on a path to flourishing. Access to extensive follow-up materials will be provided.

Dr. Cynthia Alby has spent most of her career immersed in “avid cross-disciplinary idea synthesizing.” She joined Georgia College in 2001, where she is Professor of Teacher Education. She has also served as Director of GC's LEAP Initiative and Co-Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning. For nearly 20 years she has developed faculty from across the state in Georgia’s Governor’s Teaching Fellows Program at UGA where she holds a dual appointment. Cynthia and her husband, Charlie, live on a farm called “Shangri-Baa” where they raise a critically endangered breed of sheep and livestock guardian dogs.
