Supportive Inclusive Practices (SIP) - Accessible Course Design 1 In-Person
Take a COOL SIP of accessible course design. Supportive Inclusive Practices is the first course in the Accessible Design Series. The course addresses four topics:
- benefits of accessible course design to all learners
- legal obligations for accessible course design in higher education
- Columbus State University guidelines for online course accessibility
- accessibility evaluation of course content
Course Objectives:
- Describe the types of disabilities experienced by post-secondary students
- Describe diverse students' needs for accessible courses
- Identify the benefits of accessible course design to all learners
- Identify the legal obligations for accessible course content in higher education
- Describe the Columbus State University guidelines for course accessibility and the accessibility principle addressed by the guideline
- Evaluate the accessibility of course content and formulate a remediation plan
