Practicing Equity in Teaching & Learning: Open Educational Resources In-Person

Teaching the students we have, not the students we wish we had or the students we think we used to have, or the students we were: what does it take to bring transparency to newcomers in higher education, and to remain mindful of our critical mission to educate 21st century adults?

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Participants will compare CSU graduation rates in disaggregated categories to national graduation rate data provided by the AAC&U.

  2. Participants will define and contrast equality and equity in a classroom setting.

  3. Participants will explore open educational resource indexes through the Affordable Learning Georgia site, and share results with disciplinary partners.

  4. Participants will consider investment of time needed to adopt, modify, and/or create of OER, and evaluate related strategies to support classroom equity.

Program Objective:

Faculty will adopt a growth mindset to embrace diverse people, ideas, and viewpoints that support equitable teaching practices. (CSU Strategic Plan Action Item 2.4.2)
